Don’t let them despise you because your youth.

I’m still trying to figure out how to archive my living the life page if you got and ideas please let me know at  www.Gpsministriesorders@gmail.com

anyway this is the next living the life post.

I’ve chosen this because I’m just a young man with no collage degrees or and Biblical schooling. I’m going through the collage of Gods grace and the the school of Biblical wisdom. My teachers are God centered Christians, and most of all the Bible. You may ask why am I telling you this, to me its very simple, God can use anyone of any background and of any age, as long as you realize nothing can hold you back from serving God but yourself. If you’ve read the surety of salvation you know you are your biggest enemy, and you are the biggest critic. I hope this helps budding evangelists, pastors, youth leaders, music ministers,  anyone who wants to give up there life to live for Him who saved you. You don’t have to be young to read this, because it might help you to want to help the younger generation, they are the future soul winners.

Now lets look at some scripture.

Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.  Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee. 1Ti 4:12-16

Paul is exhorting Tim to not let his youth hold him back. Apparently he was a young man (early 20′s) and he may have ran into this problem before. I’ve been there; your just a kid you can’t be used by God. I beg to differ, we can look all through scripture and see where God used a young man or woman to accomplish his will some examples are

David: The only one to stand against the mocker of God, became the king, (1 Samuel 17)

Samuel: a young boy whose life was devoted to serving the Lord, he became a judge of Israel.( 1 & 2 Samuel)

Joseph: Sold into slavery and because of his diligence and hard work and devotion to God, became the second most powerful man in the known world.(Genesis 37-35)

Daniel: Another one in slavery yet becomes the second most powerful man in the land as well, and then prophesied of the end times and tells exactly how the worlds kingdoms would rise and fall so accurately that Bible sckeptics say it had to be written after the events took place.(Daniel 2, really the whole book)

Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah aka Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego: they were thrown into a furnace and Jesus hopped right in there with them. It was so hot the men that threw them in died, and they didn’t even smell like smoke afterwards (what a testimony). (Daniel 3)

Mary: The mother of the Messiah need I say more. (Its speculated she was like 14 when God called her).( Luke 1:27-30)

The apostle John: He was the youngest of the disciples he was probably around 17-18 when he was first called by Jesus.(Mark 1:19)

And of course  Jesus: when he was a young man he left his mother and father for three days, when found he was in the temple and the men there were amazed at his understanding of scripture. His Mom was mad and He said don’t you know I must be about my fathers business. (Luke 2:49)

Paul tells Tim to emulate the traits of a godly man and to be an example to all of the believers. He tells him to use the gift God gave him. to meditate on the things that Paul wrote to him. (I must insert this, its not eastern meditation) this word means to plan by revolving in the mind; to contrive; to intend. So to really consider this stuff. Paul tells him to continue in the doctrine, thus keeping himself in the race and leading other to run as well.

Lets look at some more scripture like Psalm 119:9-16

BETH. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.
With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.
With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth.
I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches.
I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.
I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.

And Psalm 119:97-104

MEM. O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day. Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me. I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts. I have refrained my feet from every evil way, that I might keep thy word.I have not departed from thy judgments: for thou hast taught me. How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way

These are a set of guide lines you can follow, keep in the word, pray that God will not let you fall away from his commandments. Find others that are like minded in the Lord and talk with each other about the Lord. Pro 27:17  Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. We must be talking of the things of God. Its good! It sharpens you, remember your in a war and you want your sword sharp. Again if you want your self open for God to use then you need keep in his word, make it so that there’s no room for anything but the will of God.

If your afraid God won’t use you because you don’t have all the right words and you don’t understand every inch of scripture, I have some verses special for you!

James 1:5-8 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Ask the Lord, this is what I did. When I was around 13 or so, this was my constant fervent prayer. I knew God would give it because He told me He would in his word. I’m not being prideful, but hes done just as he said he would (and I still got a long way to go). Also fill you heart and mind with the things of God, lock on to some good teachers and men of God.

Now I must put three scriptual warning’s here:

The first is,

James 3:1 My bretheren, be not  many masters, knowing the we shall receive the greater condemnation.

Its good that you want to be effective for God. But when you are a Teacher, Pastor, Evangelist, or whatever in the Church (by Church I mean the body of Christ) you are held to a higher level of accountability by God because you are in a leadership position, people look to you for guidance and that guidance better be spot on with scripture.

The second is,

1Ti 3:6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.

This deals with not putting a young christian is leadership because it may destroy them. Knowledge puffs up and this is pride,  and then you are of no effect to the body of Christ. I’ve seen this first hand where a good and godly man did not heed the warning and became of no effect. Yes it was worked out later on down the road but it caused waves in the church, and his soul.

The third is the hardest one to swallow, it will make some people mad at me. This is the touchy one, but it’s the word of God. I’ve told you I will not compromise on scripture.

1Ti 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

God, not me, God said that a woman should not be the head of a church or teach the men aka Pastor a church. Now I’ve heard great testimonies by women, my Mom goes into the prisons with my Dad and gives a rockin testimony. There is plenty of places for women to serve. So serve God! This hits home for me because my wife was taught very strongly that women cannot even tell a man about Jesus. This of course is wrong. I do not endorse it neither does the Bible, we are all called to the great commission. So sorry to offend, don’t think for one minute though that God thinks you less then a man. This is just his rules. They are not man made but God made.

I strongly urge you to read the places theses scriptures show up, check them out for yourself, this is your relationship with God not mine. I’m only here to make it easy for you to find answers to question often asked. You cannot truly know the word of God until you search it out for yourself. we are to work out our salvation with fear and trembling. This does not mean you can lose your salvation if you fall, it simply means you are accountable for you walk. So strive and do your best to keep yourself in Gods will. How can you do that? Read his word. I will always stress this.

So what then can we say about serving the body of Christ well a good place to start is ask your pastor, youth pastor, or spiritual authority what things you can do to serve. Whether it is sweeping the steps of the church before church or youth group, or setting up chairs, or cleaning the toilets. Just make your self available.

Mat 25:21  His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

In summery if Gods put a burden on your heart, then work towards the goal he put in your heart, and stay in his word.

May the Lord bless you and keep you.
