Living the Life
This is a page dedicated to how we should live our lives as Christians. I will try to update it every couple weeks or so maybe more. if this is an encouragement please email us at Gpsministriesorders@gmail.com we would love to hear from you.
Why should I thank God in the good times
and the bad?
Its a question many ask. Often as we go through our lives we get caught up in only thanking God when something miraculous happens, or it’s a holiday like Thanksgiving, Easter, or Christmas (ya know when were reminded Gods did something for us). Well what does the bible say about that? we see in. 1 Peter 1:6-7 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.
Peter is saying hey in these hard times don’t forget your goal your trials are precious and they grow you closer to God, rejoice for now its good soon it could be bad. In that still rejoice, that trial its more precious then gold and that will be found unto praise and honor whe Jesus comes back to get you. Now when I write to you I’m writing what God is dealing with me on. The past few weeks everything has been going wrong in my life, no one died, but nothing I put my hand to prospered and one thing after another just kept breaking and costing me time and money of which I have little of both, yes this is trivial compared to many things, you might be dealing with much worse. But it was a learning experience. I kept looking down and God kept saying look up.
Its a Christian cliché but Romans 8:28 ( And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose). Though we hear it all the time is true but that does not make it easy. My real question to you seriously, has God every taken his hand from you. Have you ever been by yourself, you may feel like it but has He truly left you. He told you he never would.
Jos 1:5 There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Heb 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
In Joshua 1:5 he speaking to Joshua but I can say it’s for you as well because the writer of Hebrews applies it to you.
Every other time has he not come through? Is that not enough to thank him. I could go on and on. Here’s a few scriptures for you to look up on your own, check them out at the blue letter bible we just added a link to their site.
Mat 5:44-45 But I say to you, Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who despitefully use you and persecute you, so that you may become sons of your Father in Heaven. For He makes His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
1Co 10:13 No temptation has taken you but what is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but with the temptation also will make a way to escape, so that you may be able to bear it
Phi 4:4-6 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say, Rejoice! Let your moderation be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.
1 Th 5:16-18 Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing.
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
Jam 1:2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
Jam 1:13 Let no one being tempted say, I am tempted from God. For God is not tempted by evils, and He tempts no one.
Jam 1:14 But each one is tempted by his lusts, being drawn away and seduced by them.
My point is we need to thank God in the good times and the bad, He’s still there, He’s still in control, and He still loves you.
